I was born here in Raleigh at the old Rex Hospital on the corner of St. Mary’s St. and Wade Avenue. I grew up in the Coley Forest neighborhood. I have spent most of my life “inside the beltline,” attending Lacy Elementary, Martin Middle, and Broughton High School and I graduated from N.C. State University. This rich history in the area has allowed me to know this part of Raleigh as well as anyone.

As far as credentials, I’ve been in Real Estate full time since 1983. In fact, it’s the only career I’ve had since graduating from college. I’ve closed well over 1000 deals, and over 500 of these properties were located “inside the beltline”. I have owned Cornerstone Properties since 1988 and have avoided the trend of large real estate companies that have superstar agents with dozens of assistants. It’s just me and my son, Dale, here at Cornerstone Properties. We  list and sell residential property and we handle every aspect of the deal.

Over 85% of my yearly business comes from past clients and referrals. Many of my clients have completed several transactions with me over the years. If personal attention sounds like a thing of the past, call me. I’d love to earn your current business and even your future business too.

I have been happily married since 1980 to Jane, who also grew up “inside the beltline”. We have two sons, Dale; who is an NCSU graduate and works with me here at Cornerstone Properties and Neal; who graduated from UNC and works at a startup company in Durham. I'm a grandfather to 4 beautiful little girls who all live within 2 miles so I get to visit all the time! In my free time, I enjoy playing both the electric guitar and the bass guitar as well as writing and recording original Americana songs. I regularly ride my bike on the greenway and hike in Umstead Park.
